Food Classifications

As a result of eating sentient food and regular spiritual practice, the cells of the human body become sentient.
Naturally an effulgence emanates from those cells creating an aura around the physical body of the spiritual aspirant.


Sattvika (sentient) Foods

grains most spices
most pulses (da'l, legumes) nuts and seeds
fruits vegetable oils
most vegetables sugar, honey, sweets
milk and milk products,
   including cheese
seaweed
vinegar

 
 
Rájasika (Mutative) foods
 
 
chocolate, coffee and tea mazur dal (Lens esculenta Moench.) at noon
cola drinks sea kelp

 
 

Támasika (static) foods
 

 
stale or rotten food milk of a newly– calved cow
meat, at least of  large animals
eggs
mazur dal cooked for one  meal, served at the next meal
fish white brinjal (white eggplant)
onions
garlic
mushrooms
cicimgá (snake– gourd)
intoxicants and narcotics
tobacco
dainga (land– growing)  kalamii (Ipomoea
 reptans [Linn.] Poir.)
