16. BABA - FIRST ANANDA MARGII IN THE UNIVERSE

Until late 1970 I was working in Ludhiana (North India) as the principal of the Ludhiana Ananda Marga School. I was also the Diocese Secretary of Ludhiana Diocese. This was my first posting as a worker of Ananda Marga. I mobilised all the Ludhiana margiis to raise funds for our children’s home there. Within a month the financial position of my school and home had become very healthy. I started doing pracar in the nearby cities, blocks and villages. Margils were spirited and we worked as a team, rendering services and doing pracar (spreading advanced spiritual ideas).

Whenever BABA toured other parts of India, HE used to pass through Delhi. Once I proceeded to Delhi to have HIS Darshan. I went to HIS quarters in Delhi and told HIS Personal Assistant (PA) to convey that I had not seen HIM since becoming Acarya so I would like to see HIM. At that time I was a Brahmacarii. So PA Dada went inside BABA’s room, asked permission, which HE gracefully granted.

It was evening time and BABA was sitting on a chair in HIS room. I did sastaunga (prostration) pranam to BABA and then I sat near HIS feet and began to massage them. HIS feet were soft, just like flowers. There was a special fragrance of sandalwood as well. BABA spoke to me, “Oh, now Acarya Kamal Kumar has come.” BABA said this to me because I was seeing BABA for the first time since becoming an Acarya. BABA continued, “You have become an Acarya but you know that I am not even an Acarya.” BABA smiled. I said to BABA, “Oh! No BABA, YOU are far above Acaryas. YOU are the creator of Acaryas. YOU are everything.” Then BABA smiled and said, “You know, I am just an Ananda Margii - but I am the first Ananda Margii in the entire Universe.” When BABA said this, I felt that Ananda Marga’s Universal Ideology was working all over the universe on various planets and galaxies. I also felt that BABA is our father — not just my father, but also everyone’s fathr. All human beings of this earth and even the human beings of other planets far away in distant space are all HIS children. BABA is the Supreme Father and the entire cosmos is HIS planning. All are HIS children, so HE is guiding one and all to come closer to HIM. One has to follow HIM, as HE is the only one to be followed.
